Personal:
Andrea Thorsteinsson practices civil litigation, with a focus in medical malpractice defense, healthcare professionals advocacy, administrative law, and professional liability. She has specialized administrative law experience including defending a client at a formal disciplinary hearing before the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners regarding complex and voluminous allegations pertaining to twenty-four (24) different patients.  Additionally, Andrea was  successful in overturning a decision by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners which violated a  client's constitutional due process rights, by way of filing a Petition for Judicial Review.

 

Andrea also has appellate litigation experience, including the successful resolution of a medical negligence action in which the Nevada Supreme Court upheld the dismissal of her client.

A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Andrea graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University in 2001 with bachelors degrees in Supply Chain Management and Justice & Social Inquiry. While at Arizona State, Andrea received several awards in Supply Chain Management and received the national R. Gene Richter Scholarship.

Andrea received her Juris Doctorate degree from California Western School of Law in 2008. While at Cal Western, she clerked in the Executive Office of the Arizona Attorney General. She also worked as a Student Supervisor for the Bail Project under the Office of the San Diego Public Defender.

 

Andrea was admitted to practice law in the State of Nevada in 2008 and is licensed in both the State Court of Nevada and the United States District Court, District of Nevada.
