
Personal:
Seetal Tejura joined Alverson, Taylor, Mortensen & Sanders in 2002 following her graduation from law school. She accepted a partnership with the firm in October 2008. Seetal specializes in civil litigation work with an emphasis in civil rights defense, medical malpractice, employment law, and insurance defense. She is licensed to practice law in federal and district courts in the State of Nevada, the State of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit.
Seetal also represents clients in administrative proceedings before the
Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners and the Nevada Equal Rights
Commission.
Seetal has successfully tried to verdict numerous tort
cases, including a four-month long trial in the summer/fall of 2011.
Seetal also has extensive appellate litigation experience.
Recently, she presented oral arguments to the Ninth Circuit Court of
Appeals who thereafter affirmed the dismissal of her client and
granted her request for attorneys' fees.
Seetal received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California-San Diego in 1999. She received her Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in 2002. While attending Loyola, Seetal was a member of the Student Bar Association, and is a member of the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity.
Seetal was listed as a Mountain States Rising Star by SuperLawyers
in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. She is an active member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI),
Claims & Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), South Asian Bar Association,
India Chamber of Commerce, Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Women's
Chamber of Commerce of Nevada, and the Supreme Court Historical Society.
Seetal was born in Chicago, Illinois. She moved to southern California in 1982, and has lived in Las Vegas since 2002. In her spare time, Seetal enjoys scrap booking,
hiking, reading, and traveling. She speaks Gujarati (an eastern Indian dialect) and is proficient in Spanish.
